Crop an Image
Upload a photo, drag to select the area you want, and download the cropped result. No ads, no watermarks.
How it works
Upload an image and use the visual editor to drag the crop area exactly where you want it. Pick a preset aspect ratio or go freeform. Click crop and the tool cuts the image to your selection — entirely in your browser. The output keeps the original format (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG).
When to use this
- Cutting a headshot from a group photo. Pull just your face and shoulders from a wider shot for a profile picture or ID form.
- Removing unwanted edges. Crop out a timestamp, a watermark, or distracting background from the edges of a photo.
- Fitting a specific aspect ratio. Social media headers, thumbnails, and print layouts need exact proportions — crop to 16:9, 4:3, or square without guessing.
- Need to resize after cropping? Use the resize tool to set exact pixel dimensions.
Common mistakes
- Cropping too tight on a headshot. Leave some space around the subject — ID photos and profile pictures need breathing room around the face.
- Expecting resolution to increase. Cropping removes pixels — the output is always smaller than the original. If you need a larger image, resize separately.
- Forgetting the aspect ratio. If your upload target needs a specific ratio (1:1 for Instagram, 16:9 for YouTube), set it before cropping so the selection stays locked.
